A large red flag on a pole fills the right side against a low orange sun with radiating rays, and oars and splintered planks jut across the foreground. Red lettering in varied styles fills the cream sheet.

Alexander Zelensky (1882–1942), born in Astrakhan, was a poster artist of the Petrograd–Leningrad school and one of the founders of the Soviet advertising poster.
