Red capitals at the upper right spell out the city's name, one letter under another. Below, a dense collage of green-tinted advertising panels in rectangles, circles and tilted slips overlaps the figure's shoulders; a signature sits at the right below the neck.

Alexander Zelensky (1882–1942), born in Astrakhan, was a poster artist of the Petrograd–Leningrad school and one of the founders of the Soviet advertising poster.
