Red and yellow leaves edge the hem, run down the front panels and climb both straps of her dark brown dress, while linings of orange and lime flash where the fabric lifts. Blue smears behind her on bare paper, and the F of Francine Pretty runs down the left side in yellow melting to orange.

The original: colour lithograph, circa 1890; Bibliothèque nationale de France, Paris.

Alfred Choubrac (1853–1902) was a French poster artist, illustrator and costume designer in Paris.
