Two haloed angels stand behind him, the left in rose-red with red wings, the right in blue with dark blue wings holding the shroud's end. The land behind is barren, with three crosses on a distant hill at the left and a dark cave mouth at the right, and the artist's name is cut into the base of the tomb.

Andrea Mantegna (c. 1431–1506) was an Italian painter and engraver, born near Padua. At about eleven he was apprenticed to Francesco Squarcione in Padua, and in 1453 he married Nicolosia, daughter of Jacopo Bellini. He painted the Ovetari Chapel frescoes in Padua and the San Zeno Altarpiece in Verona, and from 1460 was court artist to the Gonzaga family in Mantua, where he painted the Camera degli Sposi. He is known for sculptural figures with firm outlines, bold perspective and foreshortening, the Triumphs of Caesar, and engravings. His work is held by the Louvre, the Uffizi and the National Gallery, London.

Each print is a giclée, printed to order.
