A caption runs beneath the picture and a bold title across the top.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eBoris Zvorykin (1872–1942), born in Moscow, was an illustrator, ornamental graphic artist and icon painter. After a year at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture he worked for the publishers Sytin, Mamontov and Marx, illustrating children's books such as The Tale of the Golden Cockerel (1903) and designing many illustrated postcards. From 1909 to 1912 he took part in decorating the Feodorovsky Cathedral at Tsarskoye Selo. Around 1919–1920 he designed covers for the magazine Krasnoarmeets and political posters such as Battle of the Red Knight with the Dark Force and Red Ploughman, his last works published in Russia. In 1921 he emigrated to Paris, where he died.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eEach print is a giclée, printed to order.
