Long black hair loops down the lyre's side and pink peonies with dark leaves crown her head. Grey-brown leaf shapes fan out behind the instrument, and a small crouched figure sits in an ornamented panel at its lower right. Pink stripes cross the cream ground, a faint pink swan sits at lower left, and looping black lettering names the songbook. Signed De Feure beneath the lyre.

Georges de Feure (1868–1943), born Georges Joseph van Sluijters in Paris to a Dutch father, was a painter, lithographer and designer of Symbolism and Art Nouveau.
