A large block of red paper fills the centre right. Silver and black bands run across the page at a slant, and a lower strip of cropped photographs shows workers' faces and a toothed gear. Strips of lettering run along the red block.

Gustav Klutsis (1895–1938) was a Latvian-born Constructivist and one of the pioneers of political photomontage. After art school in Riga he served with the Latvian Riflemen, then studied in Moscow under Kazimir Malevich and Antoine Pevsner and taught colour theory at VKhUTEMAS from 1924 to 1930. With his wife and collaborator Valentina Kulagina he made photomontage posters such as Electrification of the Whole Country (1920) and Let Us Fulfil the Plan of Great Works (1930). He was arrested in Moscow in January 1938 and executed that February. His work is held by the Museum of Modern Art, the Tretyakov Gallery and the Latvian National Museum of Art.

Each print is made to our Archival Museum Standards: a 12-ink giclée, printed to order.
