Across the foot runs a band of three photographic panels: a capped worker gripping two long rods in mitts, a crane-hung ladle tilting over a spray of sparks, and a small figure working a bar in orange silhouette. The slogan stands in large cream capitals across the top.

Gustav Klutsis (1895–1938) was a Latvian-born Constructivist and one of the pioneers of political photomontage. After art school in Riga he served with the Latvian Riflemen, then studied in Moscow under Kazimir Malevich and Antoine Pevsner and taught colour theory at VKhUTEMAS from 1924 to 1930. With his wife and collaborator Valentina Kulagina he made photomontage posters such as Electrification of the Whole Country (1920) and Let Us Fulfil the Plan of Great Works (1930). He was arrested in Moscow in January 1938 and executed that February. His work is held by the Museum of Modern Art, the Tretyakov Gallery and the Latvian National Museum of Art.

Each print is a giclée, printed to order.
