Two lines of black Gothic type run beneath, and red, gold and blue acanthus and grapes fill the left and lower margins.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe original: a woodcut attributed to Hans Burgkmair I, hand-coloured in red, blue, green, brown, orange-red and gold on vellum, early sixteenth century; National Gallery of Art, Washington.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eHans Burgkmair the Elder (1473–1531) was a painter and printmaker of Augsburg, trained by his father and in the workshop of Martin Schongauer, whose altarpieces helped bring the Renaissance to Germany. He made around 700 prints, was one of the first artists to experiment with colour printing, and worked on the great woodcut projects of Emperor Maximilian I, including the Theuerdank, the Weisskunig and most of the Triumphal Procession. A hand-coloured Christ on the Cross on vellum attributed to him is in the National Gallery of Art in Washington.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eEach print is a giclée, printed to order.
