Lines of cursive inscription run down every panel beside the objects, and small red seals sit low on several. The screen is attributed to Jang Seung-eop and dated 1894.

Jang Seung-eop (1843–1897), known by his art name Owon, was a Korean painter of the late Joseon dynasty. Orphaned young and largely self-taught, he learned by studying the Chinese and Korean paintings in the collection of the household where he worked, and his skill brought him to the royal court as a painter. He worked across landscapes, figures, birds, animals and flowers, and is especially remembered for still lifes of ancient bronze vessels set with flowering branches. With Kim Hong-do (Danwon) and Sin Yun-bok (Hyewon) he is counted among the three great painters of the Joseon period known by names ending in -won, and his pupils carried his manner into the twentieth century.

Each print is made to our Archival Museum Standards: a 12-ink giclée, printed to order.
