It dates the pair to about 1750-52 and notes that The See-Saw is in the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eJean-Honoré Fragonard (1732–1806) was a French painter, a pupil of Chardin and Boucher, who won the Prix de Rome in 1752 and spent several years in Italy. Rather than pursue an academic career he painted for private collectors: playful scenes of love and courtship such as The Swing, quick 'fantasy figures' brushed in an hour, landscapes and family scenes. His loose, rapid handling made him the last great painter of the Rococo; the Revolution ended his market.
