Below it the animals come down toward us: horses, a pink horned cow, a white goat, two spotted dogs, two rabbits, a cockerel, small birds and a long-legged white bird with a red bill. Orange letters spell L'Arche de Noé, the Concert des Ambassadeurs is named in white across the blue top, and J. Costé is credited with words and music.

The original: colour lithograph, 1881; Bibliothèque nationale de France, Paris.

Jules Chéret (1836–1932) was the father of the modern poster. A trained lithographer, he set up his own press in Paris in 1866 and over the next four decades produced more than a thousand colour posters for theatres, dance halls, perfumes and lamp oil, populated by the laughing, airborne women Parisians called Chérettes. He received the Légion d'honneur in 1890 for creating a new branch of art. His posters are held by the Bibliothèque nationale de France and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs.

Each print is made to our Archival Museum Standards: a 12-ink giclée, printed to order.
