Her peach-orange dress spreads wide across the foot, two matching shoes showing beneath it. A deep red arch fills the ground with a black brushed patch at the left. Cream letters curve round the arch to name Pippermint, with Get Frères in red.

The original: colour lithograph, 1900; Bibliothèque nationale de France, Paris.

Jules Chéret (1836–1932) was the father of the modern poster. A trained lithographer, he set up his own press in Paris in 1866 and over the next four decades produced more than a thousand colour posters for theatres, dance halls, perfumes and lamp oil, populated by the laughing, airborne women Parisians called Chérettes. He received the Légion d'honneur in 1890 for creating a new branch of art. His posters are held by the Bibliothèque nationale de France and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs.

Each print is made to our Archival Museum Standards: a 12-ink giclée, printed to order.
