M. Glackens, was an American cartoonist, illustrator and animator, born in Philadelphia and the brother of the painter William Glackens. From the 1890s he drew for Puck, the magazine of political and social satire, where his humorous scenes reflected the mixed immigrant population of New York. After Puck was sold in 1914 he moved into the new field of animated film, making short cartoons for Barré Studio and Bray Productions, and he also illustrated humorous books. The Library of Congress holds more than two hundred catalogued pictures by him.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eEach print is a giclée, printed to order.
