She raises one finger toward an orange sun on a yellow horizon, framed by a bare blue tree at left and a cluster of blue trees at right. A blue band curves down the hill, and red-orange daisies grow along the foot. Large lettering above the frame advertises the newspaper The Sun, and a monogram in a heart sits at lower left.

Louis Rhead (1857–1926) was an English-born American artist, illustrator and author. Born into a Staffordshire pottery family, he studied in Paris under Gustave Boulanger and at the National Art Training School in South Kensington, and worked for Minton and Wedgwood before moving to New York in 1883 as art director for the publisher D. Appleton. In the 1890s poster craze, influenced by Eugène Grasset, his work appeared regularly in Harper's, The Century, St. Nicholas and Scribner's, and in 1895 he won a gold medal at the first International Poster Show in Boston. He later illustrated children's classics and wrote American Trout-Stream Insects (1916).

Each print is made to our Archival Museum Standards: a 12-ink giclée, printed to order.
