Brick-red planes fill the gaps between them, and a broad ochre-brown triangle runs across the lower third. The white ground is laid on thickly enough to stand up in ridges, and soft grey haze bleeds from the black edges into it. A small green triangle and a dark maroon wedge close the bottom right corner.

Lyubov Popova (1889–1924) was a Russian avant-garde painter and designer. After studying in Paris in 1912–13 she worked in a Cubo-Futurist manner, then joined Malevich's Supremus group and from 1916 painted her Painterly Architectonics, overlapping planes of colour with no subject. In the early 1920s she turned to Constructivist stage, book and textile design. She died of scarlet fever in Moscow in 1924. Her work is held by the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza and the Museum of Modern Art, New York.

Each print is made to our Archival Museum Standards: a 12-ink giclée, printed to order.
