An early landmark is the Pali Ragamala of 1623, painted by Virji in a lively style close to Jain manuscript painting. Under Gaj Singh and Jaswant Singh, both prominent at the court of Shah Jahan, Mughal-style portraits and group scenes appeared, and in the eighteenth century the Delhi-trained Dalchand brought imperial refinement; equestrian portraits became a Jodhpur speciality. The most prolific phase came under Man Singh (r. 1803–43), a follower of the Nath sect, who commissioned large manuscripts of Nath texts in a hard-edged style glittering with gold. Examples are held by the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eEach print is a giclée, printed to order.
