In front, two bearded bishops face each other holding white-crooked croziers: at left a white-bearded man in a green cope and red-banded white mitre, at right one in a pale cope patterned with red sprigs and a blue-and-white mitre, a blue band with black crosses over his chest and a book in his gloved hand. Between them stand a young man in orange holding a palm and a bearded man in green.

The original: a cutting from a choir book with an initial O, made in Italy, probably the Veneto, in 1440–50, in tempera, gold and ink on parchment; The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.

The Master of the Murano Gradual is the name scholars give the illuminator of a gradual, a choir book of the sung parts of the Mass, probably from the Camaldolese monastery of San Michele in Murano, which survives only as scattered cuttings and leaves. A highly distinctive illuminator of fifteenth-century northern Italy, he painted broad, fully modelled, grave figures and probably worked alongside Belbello da Pavia. Leaves are held by the National Gallery of Art in Washington and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Each print is a giclée, printed to order.
