Rows of beds hold the sick, some sitting up in terror, some sprawled. In the foreground a nun in a white winged cornette lifts a rosary and crucifix high while a gaunt patient reaches up beside her, and a dark cross hangs on the wall behind. Paraphrase on the Finding of a Glove (1881) follows a lost glove through a sequence of dreams and fears; A Life and On Death turn to social misery and mortality. His Beethoven monument (1902) was the centrepiece of the Vienna Secession's fourteenth exhibition. Giorgio de Chirico and Max Ernst both acknowledged his influence.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eEach print is made to our \u003ca href=\"\/pages\/archival-museum-standards\"\u003eArchival Museum Standards\u003c\/a\u003e: a 12-ink giclée, printed to order.
