The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eMiskin was a painter in the workshop of the Mughal emperor Akbar, active about 1570 to 1604, known above all as a painter of animals, which he may have sketched from life at the animal combats staged at court. He painted for Akbar's personal copy of the Khamsa of Amir Khusrau Dihlavi of 1597–98 and drew the outlines and portraits for pages of the Akbarnama, the illustrated chronicle of Akbar's reign.
