Early biographers say he spent only a few days in Titian's studio; he was otherwise largely self-taught, drawing from models and from casts and prints. He painted large religious and mythological canvases with muscular figures, strong foreshortening and fast, bold brushwork, earning the nickname il Furioso. His major commissions include the Miracle of the Slave, the cycle for the Scuola Grande di San Rocco and Paradise in the Doge's Palace. His work is held by the Gallerie dell'Accademia in Venice, the Museo del Prado and the Louvre.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eEach print is a giclée, printed to order.
