Canon tables, devised by Eusebius of Caesarea in the 300s, line up passages that tell the same events in more than one Gospel. These pages were separated from the book at some point; the rest of the manuscript is in a public collection in Armenia.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe original: a canon table page from the Zeyt'un Gospels, written and illuminated by T'oros Roslin at Hromklay in 1256, in tempera, gold paint and ink; J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eT'oros Roslin was an Armenian manuscript illuminator who signed seven manuscripts, mainly gospel books, made at Hromklay between 1256 and 1268. Working in the Armenian kingdom of Cilicia for King Het'um I and Katholikos Constantine I, he drew on models from Western European, Byzantine and even Chinese art, and his canon tables show that he was a pupil of the illuminator Yohannes. Scholars regard him as a central master of Armenian illumination; a canon table page of 1256 is in the J. Paul Getty Museum.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eEach print is a giclée, printed to order.
