Amrita Sher-Gil (1913–1941) painted Torso in 1932, during her training at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris — and it remains one of the most assured academic nudes of early Indian modernism. The model is seen from behind, her back rendered in warm ochres and golds against a cool slate-blue interior, with a framed nude on the wall answering the living figure like an echo. The handling is sculptural and unsentimental, the influence of Cézanne and the Post-Impressionists absorbed into something already unmistakably Sher-Gil's own. Works from this Paris period won her the Grand Salon's recognition at just twenty.

Printed as a museum-grade giclée on Hahnemühle fine art paper using 12-ink archival pigment printing. Available handframed in FSC-certified wood with optional float glass, or unframed. Ships worldwide with free delivery to 30+ countries.
