Quality Promise
Why We Insist on Quality
A fine art print should feel like an object worth living with—not simply an image transferred onto paper. That principle guides how we produce every 9 Art Prints piece, from the print itself to the finished frame.
Fine Art Paper, Chosen for the Artwork
We don't print on thin poster stock or generic coated paper.
We use Hahnemühle German Etching and Photo Rag, selecting the surface that best suits the artwork. German Etching's substantial, textured surface is particularly effective for painterly, figurative and atmospheric works. Photo Rag offers a beautifully smooth matte surface suited to graphic, geometric and precision-driven images.
There is no single perfect paper for every artwork. Our guide to fine art papers explains why the surface should serve the image.
12-Ink Archival Giclée Printing
We use 12-ink archival pigment giclée printing, rather than ordinary four-colour commercial printing.
That wider ink set allows for greater tonal range, subtler gradations and richer colour reproduction—particularly important when reproducing complex paintings, woodblocks and works with delicate neutrals.
But “giclée” alone does not guarantee a great print. Paper, inks, source quality and production standards all matter. Read how to tell whether an art print is actually high quality.
Solid-Wood, Handmade Framing
We don't use MDF or plastic mouldings.
Our framed prints are handmade from solid wood by professional framers, so the frame feels like part of the finished artwork rather than an afterthought.
We also offer low-reflection glazing, including Moth-Eye Perspex on eligible premium framed pieces, reducing the mirror-like glare common with ordinary glazing while protecting the artwork beneath.
Our framing guide explains the materials and choices in more detail.
Care Beyond the Print
Quality doesn't end when an order leaves the studio. Every piece is produced to order and carefully packaged for its journey.
And if something does go wrong—a damaged shipment, a delivery problem, or simply a question about your order—you can reach a real person who will help resolve it.
Our promise is straightforward: no cheap paper, no mass-market framing, no shortcuts where they matter. Good art deserves better.
