American West Art Prints

The American West as the painters who went there saw it. George Catlin travelled up the Missouri in 1832 and painted Mandan, Crow and Blackfeet leaders in full dress; Alfred Jacob Miller rode with the fur trappers to their Green River rendezvous in 1837; Seth Eastman painted Dakota and Ojibwe life around Fort Snelling while serving there as an army officer. Albert Bierstadt, Thomas Moran, Thomas Hill and William Keith brought Yosemite, Yellowstone and the Rockies back east on canvas, and Moran's Yellowstone sketches helped persuade Congress to make it the first national park. Then the riders: Frederic Remington's cavalry and cow ponies, Charles M. Russell's Montana, Charles Schreyvogel's troopers, Edward Borein's vaqueros, Frank Tenney Johnson's moonlit trails and Maynard Dixon's desert covers. Archival giclée prints on Hahnemühle paper, framed or unframed.
