Botanical & Natural History Art Prints

Still life and botanical art prints: flower and plant illustrations, natural history plates and still life paintings from the 16th to the early 20th century. The largest groups are Pierre-Joseph Redouté's plates of roses and lilies (Les Liliacées, Choix des plus belles fleurs) and Maria Sibylla Merian's Metamorphosis of the Insects of Surinam. Other artists include Joris Hoefnagel, John James Audubon, Mary Vaux Walcott, Ernst Haeckel and Theo van Hoytema. Still life paintings come from Dutch Golden Age painters Ambrosius Bosschaert, Balthasar van der Ast, Willem Claesz. Heda and Jan Davidsz. de Heem, and from Raphaelle Peale, Henri Fantin-Latour, Paul Gauguin, Odilon Redon, Piet Mondrian and Georgia O'Keeffe.

The works share close observation of flowers, fruit and insects, whether made for science or for display.

The botanical plates suit kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms, and work well in pairs or sets; the darker Dutch still lifes fit a dining room. All prints are museum-quality reproductions, available unframed or framed with low-glare acrylic glazing, with free shipping and import duties covered.
