Majestic Art Prints

Majestic art prints: paintings and prints of grand mountains, vast landscapes, palaces, rulers and large-scale subjects. The largest group is Hiroshi Yoshida's shin-hanga woodblock prints of El Capitan, Mount Rainier, the Grand Canyon, Mount Fuji and the Swiss Alps (1920s), with Mount Fuji prints by Kawase Hasui. The collection also includes Caspar David Friedrich's Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog, Jacques-Louis David's Napoleon Crossing the Alps (1801), 19th-century Orientalist paintings of palace guards and processions by Rudolf Ernst, Jean-Léon Gérôme and Ludwig Deutsch, William Blake's Book of Job engravings (1825), John Martin's mezzotints for Paradise Lost, and Charles Meryon's etchings of Paris. These works suit large walls and formal rooms.
