Black birds on snow, moon and wheatfield

Crow and raven art prints: Japanese woodblock prints, ink paintings, illustrations and paintings of crows and ravens.

Ohara Koson's woodblock prints of crows on snowy branches and at the full moon (early 20th century) are the largest group. Others are Gustave Doré's illustrations for Edgar Allan Poe's The Raven (1884), Arthur Rackham's fable and fairy tale illustrations (1908–1913), Watanabe Seitei's crows (1890), Kawanabe Kyosai's ink painting, Édouard Manet's lithograph of a raven's head (1875) and Vincent van Gogh's Wheatfield with Crows (1890).

The collection brings together one bird as seen by Japanese printmakers, European illustrators and painters, so the same subject can be compared across very different styles.

The black birds on pale or snowy grounds suit studies, hallways and bedrooms, and work well as a pair or a row of three. All prints are museum-quality reproductions, available unframed or framed with low-glare acrylic glazing, with free shipping and import duties covered.
