Mythology Art Prints

Mythology art prints: paintings, prints and miniatures of gods, heroes, demons and legends from Greek, Roman, Hindu and Finnish mythology. A large group is Indian miniature painting from the Mewar, Bikaner, Kangra, Basohli and Guler schools, illustrating the Ramayana and the life of Krishna (18th–19th centuries). Akseli Gallen-Kallela's paintings show scenes from the Finnish Kalevala.

Greek and Roman subjects include works by Gustave Moreau (Orpheus, Sappho), Henry Fuseli (Oedipus), Arnold Böcklin, Max Klinger, Francisco de Goya and Jacek Malczewski, with 15th-century Italian Tarocchi engravings of the planetary gods.

The selection sets myths from several cultures side by side, so the same kinds of stories about gods, heroes and fate can be compared across traditions.

The bright Indian miniatures suit living rooms and bedrooms; the darker Symbolist paintings and Tarocchi engravings work in studies, libraries and hallways. All prints are museum-quality reproductions, available unframed or framed with low-glare acrylic glazing, with free shipping and import duties covered.
