Joseph Christian Leyendecker (1874–1951) was the most celebrated American commercial illustrator of his era, responsible for over 400 Saturday Evening Post covers and the iconic Arrow Collar Man campaign that became a cultural phenomenon. His idealized male figures carried a charged aesthetic that resonated powerfully with queer audiences — the Arrow Collar Man became an early touchstone of LGBTQ+ visual culture decades before such language existed. His technique was meticulous, his influence on Norman Rockwell and generations of illustrators incalculable.
Printed on Hahnemühle German Etching paper — the same stock museum studios use — through a twelve-ink archival pigment process that holds colour the way memory holds detail: precisely, completely. Frames are solid ash and oak, hand-made to order. Nothing between you and the image.
