A girl cups a yellow bird in her quiet hands
Kaoru Kawano — Girl with Yellow Bird | Shin Hanga Print
Kaoru Kawano (1916–1965) was a Japanese Sōsaku-hanga printmaker known for his warmly observed, gently lyrical studies of children and everyday life. Working in woodblock, he developed a style of tender informality — childlike in the best sense — that stands apart from both the formal bijinga tradition and the more abstract tendencies of mid-century Sōsaku-hanga. His prints are beloved for their humanity and directness.
Printed as a museum-grade giclée on Hahnemühle fine art paper using 12-ink archival pigment printing. Available handframed in FSC-certified wood with optional float glass, or unframed. Ships worldwide with free delivery to 30+ countries.
