Hans Handschin (1899–1948) was a Swiss graphic designer and poster artist whose work in the interwar period stands among the most formally refined examples of European commercial design. His posters — bold colour, sharp geometry, confident typography — synthesise the Swiss design tradition with the influence of the German and French avant-gardes, achieving a visual impact that was both immediately effective and formally sophisticated. His red posters are particularly prized for their graphic authority.
