Contemplative Art Prints

Contemplative art prints: paintings and prints of people reading, praying, studying or looking out in thought, and quiet scenes that invite reflection. The largest group is 19th-century Orientalist paintings of scholars, scribes, prayer and chess by Ludwig Deutsch, Rudolf Ernst and Jean-Léon Gérôme. The collection also includes Caspar David Friedrich's Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog (c. 1818), portraits by Amrita Sher-Gil and Gustav Klimt, Belgian and Polish Symbolist paintings by Fernand Khnopff and Jacek Malczewski, Hans Baldung Grien's Saint Jerome woodcut, Max Klinger's engravings, and Japanese woodblock prints by Kawase Hasui and Ohara Koson. These works suit studies, libraries and quiet rooms.

A single portrait or figure painting works above a desk or reading chair. All prints are museum-quality reproductions, available unframed or framed with low-glare acrylic glazing, with free shipping and import duties covered.
