A woman with upswept red hair and a wide cream-and-black hat leans forward in a voluminous yellow ruffled gown, a black glove holding a small red-corded earpiece to her ear. The cord runs to an orange box on a stand at the lower left. Behind her, a top-hatted man stands beside two pale blue silhouettes of women in profile, against a graduated blue sky. Bold red lettering names the Théâtrophone across the top.

Jules Chéret (1836–1932) was the father of the modern poster. A trained lithographer, he set up his own press in Paris in 1866 and over the next four decades produced more than a thousand colour posters for theatres, dance halls, perfumes and lamp oil, populated by the laughing, airborne women Parisians called Chérettes. He received the Légion d'honneur in 1890 for creating a new branch of art. His posters are held by the Bibliothèque nationale de France and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs.

Printed as a museum-grade giclée on Hahnemühle fine art paper using 12-ink archival pigment printing. Available handframed in FSC-certified wood with optional float glass, or unframed. Ships worldwide with free delivery to 30+ countries.
