Robert Fludd (1574–1637) was an English physician, astrologer, and Rosicrucian cosmologist whose elaborate engraved diagrams — published in his monumental Utriusque Cosmi (1617–1621) — constitute one of the most visually ambitious works of Western esotericism. Drawing on Kabbalah, Hermeticism, Neoplatonism, and Christian mysticism, his engravings of the Sefirot, the macrocosm, and the music of the spheres created a visual language of cosmic order that bridges medieval mystical diagram and Baroque natural philosophy. His works are among the most reproduced images in the history of esoteric thought.
