Jean Delville (1867–1953) was a Belgian Symbolist painter, occultist, and poet whose works — vast canvases of angelic figures, Satanic grandeur, and mythological apocalypse — are among the most ambitious expressions of late 19th-century Symbolism. Founder of the Salon d'Art Idéaliste in Brussels, he produced works of extraordinary scale and chromatic intensity that draw on Neoplatonism, Theosophy, and the classical tradition to create images of transcendent spiritual drama.
