Circles

Circles in art: paintings, prints, posters, maps and diagrams in which the circle is the main shape. The most represented artist is Karl Wiener, with his abstract and modernist works of the 1920s, followed by Edward Burne-Jones's Flower Book roundels, Albrecht Dürer's woodcut knots (1506), Andreas Cellarius's celestial charts (1660), Joost Schmidt's Bauhaus exhibition poster (1923) and Saul Bass's Vertigo poster (1958). The collection also includes round world maps, star maps, solar system charts and a lunar map from 1636 to 1930, and Fra Angelico and Fra Filippo Lippi's round Adoration of the Magi (about 1440).

The selection is grouped by shape rather than subject, so religious, scientific and modernist works sit side by side.

The graphic compositions suit modern living rooms, studies and home offices, and several round designs hung together make a coherent set. All prints are museum-quality reproductions, available unframed or framed with low-glare acrylic glazing, with free shipping and import duties covered.
