Transport Art Prints
Transport art prints: posters, illustrations and prints of trains, railways, cars, bicycles, motorcycles, boats and aircraft. The collection includes Swiss railway and Alpine road posters by Emil Cardinaux and Roger Broders (1914 to 1928); Art Nouveau bicycle and automobile posters by Alphonse Mucha, Henri Privat-Livemont, Eugène Grasset and Théophile Steinlen (1890s to 1902); and German posters by Ludwig Hohlwein. Soviet posters of the 1920s show trains, ships and aircraft. Albert Robida's 1893 illustrations imagine future airships and flying vehicles, alongside Henri de Montaut's illustrations for Jules Verne's From the Earth to the Moon (1868). It also includes Édouard Manet's Claude Monet Painting in His Studio Boat (1874).
The selection follows how new machines were advertised and imagined as they appeared.
The bright posters suit garages, entryways and children's rooms; the engravings suit a study. All prints are museum-quality reproductions, available unframed or framed with low-glare acrylic glazing, with free shipping and import duties covered.
