A standing woman in a white hooded veil and a long mauve-grey robe holds a small white lily sprig at her breast, her other arm folded across her body and her eyes lowered in thought. A yellow-green mantle falls behind her, and a ring of gold thorn-like branches circles her head. Behind her, a deep teal-blue sky with a pale wavy band and a small star emblem at the upper right meets a mottled gold ground.

Richard Roland Holst (1868–1938) was a Dutch painter, draughtsman and designer who believed art should serve the community. Trained at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam, which he directed from 1926 to 1934, he followed William Morris in seeking purity and clear form. A socialist, he made woodcuts, lithographs, posters and book designs in a modified Symbolist style, many for the writings of his wife, the poet Henriette Roland Holst, and painted murals for the Beurs van Berlage and the Diamond Workers' Union building. His work is held by the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum and the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam.

Printed as a museum-grade giclée on Hahnemühle fine art paper using 12-ink archival pigment printing. Available handframed in FSC-certified wood with optional float glass, or unframed. Ships worldwide with free delivery to 30+ countries.
