Salomon Corrodi (1810–1892) was an Italian-Swiss landscape and Orientalist painter whose luminous views of Venice, Jerusalem, the Nile, and the Italian lakes established him as one of the 19th century's most accomplished atmospheric painters. Working in a tradition that bridged the Old Masters and the Romantic movement, he brought exceptional sensitivity to light, reflection, and the poetry of travel to every composition. His panoramic works — feluccas on the Nile, the sacred skyline of Jerusalem at dusk — are among the most evocative Orientalist landscapes ever painted.
