A double-page opening displays black verse text on a dark gold ground, framed by wide gilt margins of dense floral and grape-leaf scrollwork bordered in maroon and gold. On the right page a cusped gold-and-blue arched header tops a blue sura-title cartouche above a gold panel of script. A fainter, smaller line of reddish-brown interlinear text runs beneath each line of black verse on both pages, with small gold rosettes marking verse divisions.

Ahmad Nairizi was the leading master of naskh in late Safavid Iran. Born in Neyriz, he went to Isfahan, the Safavid capital, to study calligraphy, and his dated works run from the 1680s into the 1730s. He copied Qur'ans and prayer books in a refined Persian naskh that later calligraphers, among them Vesal of Shiraz in the nineteenth century, took as their model. His work is held by the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Printed as a museum-grade giclée on Hahnemühle fine art paper using 12-ink archival pigment printing. Available handframed in FSC-certified wood with optional float glass, or unframed. Ships worldwide with free delivery to 30+ countries.
